COVID Re-Posters

Doing our bit for common sense

Doing our bit for common sense

At the very start of the COVID outbreak this year, we witnessed some very distressing and idiotic behaviour by people acting irresponsibly. Stockpiling food they didn’t need, making unnecessary journeys during lockdown, the kind of selfish behaviour we all dislike. These ‘COVID-iots’ really annoyed us, so we did something about it. Inspired by the simple and direct approach of WWI and WWII public information posters, we set up our own ‘Ministry of Common Sense’. We were fascinated to see if re-running the same posters and applying only subtle design changes, the posters could be as relevant and impactful today, as they were almost a century ago.

We were surprised by the positive response both from the public on social media and our peers. Our work featured in Design Week and is even a permanent exhibit at Die Neue Sammlung – The Design Museum in Munich.
