Becoming World-Ready

Ardingly College provides an excellent 21st century education by being a forward-thinking and high-achieving co-educational school with a strong academic focus, excellent student support and a global outlook. Yet, in the fiercely competitive private education sector, creating a point of difference poses a real challenge.

The school came to us with a simple brief: create a marketing campaign that articulates their unique approach to learning and cuts through the sea of happy-smiley student imagery so often associated with private school advertising.

The response

The commitment to providing an exceptional learning environment is at the heart of everything Ardingly College does, as is the desire to prepare every student for an ever-evolving world. Focusing on these two core values, we devised the bold and eye-catching World-Ready concept. The campaign revolved around student stories and their aspirations for the future and how the school prepares them to achieve their ambitions.

We art directed a photoshoot capturing students’ individual personalities and talents, creating a strikingly visual, aspirational campaign. This was then rolled out over a range of press ads, internal comms and outdoor media. Even the school minibus got a make-over with its own World-Ready livery. Using student’s voices to add authenticity, we also scripted and directed a series of radio adverts that were aired on Heart FM.

The results

The World-Ready campaign was hugely successful. Ardingly College has seen a massive 90% increase in enquiries and a 45% uptake to Open Day attendance. The World-Ready message is now fully embedded into the school’s curriculum and is so well received that it is now a staple element of the school logo and ethos. Due to its on-going success, we also recorded new 2018 versions of the radio advert.
